Offset: The plate is mounted on a plate cylinder and progressively inked and watered. The image from the plate cylinder is transferred to the blanket cylinder, the blanket cylinder is used to stop the plate coming into contact with the abrasive qualities of the paper. The inked image is then transferred to the paper, the impression cylinder ensures that all of the image is fully printed.
